Mystery liquid collecting in passenger side bumper

Hi All. I'm driving a manual 2017 340i. Beautiful car and new to me, but that's a story for another thread.

The other day I noticed a mystery fluid on the bumper that I first assumed was water. I wiped it up, but then looked inside the opening under the right headlight (is that a brake duct?) and noticed several drops in that space. Thinking maybe I drove through a puddle or something (though it's pretty dry here), I gave it a couple days to see if it would dry out. It hasn't.

It appears clear on the car--looks like water--but when I wipe it up with a paper towel it's a very light brown. Doesn't feel like oil. Could be dirty water? Any ideas? Fluid levels are reading ok in the car and no other problems. No apparent leaks or puddles under the car.
