Hi:

Does anyone know the procedure - or where to find a guide to - removing and replacing the side molding for the windshield on a 2015 428i GC? Mine has gotten some scuff on it and is looking worn - but I can't seem to find any instructions online.

FYI, I am referring to part 7 in this picture (though I assume I will also need to replace the clips (parts 8 and 9) as well.

Just pull it off and click the new one in no need to replace the clips. Very easy straightforward.

Thanks Saby. Just put a plastic spudger/ spatula under it and pry it up? That's it?

Did this on my F30. Just pull it off with your hands. Dont bend it too much!

Replaced mine as well (pull it off gently as others have said).
Also fixed the very annoying whistling noise above 50mph!

Where did you purchase the side molding? I'm trying to get mine replaced under warranty, but in case it doesn't get approved, I was wondering where to order it (cheaper than through BMW). Thanks in advance.

Great thread! I am planning on replacing mine as well. For some reason, they got all these white circles all over them. So all I need are the 2 molding pieces and the clips? Any idea on ballpark price?

I can't seem to get the parts to load for a 2016 model. Is that too new to try and find parts? I'm wondering if the side moldings are the same for a 2016 model. I would think they would be, but wasn't sure.

If you put the part # in the realoem.com PART NR APPLICATION SEARCH box it will tell you what models that part applies to. Example:
