Post Straw poll - What tyres are you all running at the moment?

It's time for a new set of hoops again and thought to do a quick straw poll on what people are running on their cars.

I've gotten 20,000km from a set of Michelin PSS (rears, fronts have about 40% left) and am considering options. I'm running standard size 225/45/18 on all corners.

PSS I'm going to leave aside as I don't need something that grippy for what is predominately DD with a good chunk of highway use to the Gold and Sunshine Coasts.

Shortlist at the moment is the Conti CSC5 and Falkan FK453 (which were recommended as being a standout and overlooked tyre. Lot of 997 drivers like these as a Michelin replacement). I was thinking of the Goodyear Eagle F1 Assymetric 2 which I've used on my previous BMW and quite liked. Likely going to try the Falkan hoops I reckon.

Love to read your thoughts on what's good for a 328i/335i at the moment. You can leave any RFT at the door however

The Conti SC5 is a good alternative to the PSS, it's ultimately not as grippy but it's better priced and still a standout performance tyre.

I don't rate the Falken FK453 as a performance tyre.

It's not too late to change my mind. What is it about the tyre you didn't like? The reviews were quite strong (unlike the FK452 it replaced)

When I put some new Pirelli RFTs put on my 405s I was told that I can ONLY have RFTs.
(Something to do with the sensors?)

Is this true?

So many people talk about the ride/handling being better on normal tyres that I was thinking that's what I would do next.

True? No.

Ride and handling better? Yes. Think about getting a compressor in case you get a flat though, they're not expensive.
