So the August vacation time in Germany is coming close.

I have not yet ordered my car, thanks to some paper work holding me up. I am sure some of us here will be in similar boats (or no boat for a few weeks).

Anyone knows what exact dates the production will stop for the break and resume again in August/September?

I can imagine there being big backlogs in those weeks for orders. This will be cutting is real close for the UDE Credit deadline of 31st oct.

I am not quite sure but I heard there isn't any vacation at all this year for the Germany plant. Anyone else feel free to pitch in though.

On a similar note. Is the factory open seven days a week??? I just got an update on my build that it is estimated to be finished on Aug 3rd. Moved up from Aug 5th. Just curious. The sooner the better!!!

You sure, because this is what the Welt emailed me back when I tried to setup a tour during my ED.

"We are sorry to inform you that there are no guided tours through the BMW plant in Munich between the 15th of August and the 16th of August because of a vacation closedown. The BMW plant will re-open on the 19th of January 2013."

Probably closed to tours and not for actual production when they talk about opening in January.

Most likely for tours because we recieved a bulletin from BMW a couple months ago stating there would be no summer plant closures

Probably a typo, I had heard recently that the factory was under construction so the tour was modified. They will probably shut down tours for a while due to this.
