Bubble In Tire

Hey guys,
I leased a 435 beginning of year, and have less than 900 miles on it. This past weekend, I noticed a bubble in the run flat tire . I've had this before in my previous BMW, but not within 900 miles. Called dealer, BMW NA, and all stated same thing: that they will not replace it. I understand that this is the consumer's responsibility, however, I thought perhaps that this would not happen within 900 miles and maybe I'd be "assisted" with the replacement. Does anyone have any suggestions? Or shall I just order the new tire, and stop barking up the wrong tree?
Thanks guys!

I'm guessing this is on the sidewall? The likely position they take is that you hit a curb, which can happen on day 1 out of the showroom. How could you prove inherent defect and not trauma....hire a tire expert in a lab to dissect it? Life is too short.....buy a new tire and roll on!

This is where the tire insurance would have come in handy...

... but if you dont have it, then you are barking up the wrong tree yes.

Tires are your responsibility, whether you just rolled it 1 miles away from the dealer or have driven 20,000 miles, it's all the same, you simply have to buy a new tire.

sorry to say so.

Both of my front tires have bubbles. Goodyear Efficient Grips. I went through all this, BMW won't do shit. You can try and go through the tire manufacturer, they might give you some credit towards a new tire. Depending on how bad your bubble is, you can probably drive on it for a while as long as it's not getting worse. Mine are not that bad, and have not changed so i'm still rollin and keeping an eye on things.

Make sure to read the OEM tire warranty info, e.g. Pirelli has OEM RFT road hazard policy for first year or first 2/32nd tread(and pro-rated after that) which covers 100% tire replacement cost.

+1 about reading the warranty before buying new tire.

With only 900 miles you can make a great case for free or low cost replacement from the tire manufacturer, but you'll have to ask very persistently because they won't want to.

What tires are they?

I had the same thing happen on both passenger side tires (pothole I'm sure) on Goodyears at about 12,000 miles. They offered a reduced price towards new tires based on the tread wear. I ended up finding a better deal on some lightly used tires that matched the remaining tread on my other tires.

My recollection is only OE Pirelli and Conti tires have similar RFT road hazard policies of 1st year or 1st 2/32nd. Bridgestone also has a new RFT named DriveGuard that also has road hazard coverage but it is not shown on tirerack as OE tire yet.

My next and last move before purchasing new tire is to contact the manufacturer. These are the 19" bridgestone Potenza S001 RFT. Thanks dude.

Unfortunate, but true. Tires are your responsibility, so you would just need to replace it. If you can invest in a tire protection warranty or something, that would be good!

Hey, I think that ship has sailed for me dude. I am unable to purchase the tire protection plan, since it must be done prior to pick up of car. I'll just buy the new tire and skip lunch for a month...
