Leather Dashboard Pics - Contrast Stitching?

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Has anyone received any F32/33/36 with the leather dash option (code 4M5, instead of XT1)?

I would like to know if option 4M5, as does XT1, comes with contrast stitching, or if sticking is just plain black..

From the Catalog and online pics i'm not sure.. any info on this?

I've seen this on a german forum..It is the leather dashboard option. The stitching is black on black, but it still gives it an upscale look I think.

I saw a 2015 gran coupe in a showroom recently with leather dashboard and it is not contrast stitching. In fact, I was a bit disappointed in the look and feel of the leather dashboard. It still looks and feels cheap to me.

Thank you for all the input.

My GC is still in status 112, i guess it will already come with the July changes, with upper and lower dash leather?

Contrast stitching

Hi Fon,

there's more to it than meets the eye. I'm driving a 435i convertible with the individual leather Merino/Muskat + the individual dash leather option Merino (not the basic leather dash). This option DOES get you the contrast stitching on the dash, but ONLY on the drivers side. I took some photos to illustrate.

I'm VERY happy with my choice because it gives the (to me) dull looking BMW interior the luxurious touch this car deserves.

Cheers

Many thanx xzqtgo !!! Gorgeous F33 !

I'll get the same combo with Gold brown next week and those pictures is what i need to relief the waiting pain !!!

Piano black trim is a dust trap indeed ...

If u got other pics ( better lighting, wider angles, closer pictures of the seats ) please post .

Muskat is very difficult to capture on pictures i guess... but i saw it once and its is cozy and classy at the same time : Good choice !

Over the upper dash, and only with Merino leather upgrade.

With Merino upgrade, you get contrast also over the lower dash (side & passenger) and arm rest. Upper doors and passenger side dash have no contrast.

Be sure there is a big difference. The dash leather is a decent enough upgrade from the plastic standard one. But the souple leather of the individual upgrade really makes the difference. It has the quality of an expensive leather wallet.

I owned a 320d with standard leather before this, and the difference is quite stunning. I'll post some more pics later on, with better lighting.

do you believe it is necessary to put any type of protection on the leather?

also any strategy to keep the piano trim scratch free (love Piano, just know the millions of micro scratches are inevitable).

Signed,

My dealer gave me this special product for leather interior. Leather needs to be nourished. The piano trim is very sensitive for scratches, hopefully micro fibre cloths will help to keep it more or less ok.
