Me too! Hard to believe. I've had my on since May of last year with no problems - just lots of smiles.

Usually something better and cheaper comes along after I make the purchase.

Just had mine put in two weeks ago on my 7/2013 build (2014 335xi). Apparently no new DME according to my service advisor. List price was $1500. I paid Port Install price of $1170.

I haven't heard if the port is installing these again.

BL 5, is your car post July 20? For example, you can order a ppk even from bmwusa.com for a 2014 so long as the build was early to mid July. Problem for a bunch of us is that we have builds well past July. Mine was a November 30 build. I don't think there is a ppk for those post July builds yet.

My 335i completed build last week and is being transported to the US. Is the MPPK available for port install? If so, would you happen to know whether it is still ordered using option code Z4A or is there a new code?

Same option code but doesn't say anything if it can be port installed right now

Very cool...

The updated numbers probably aren't at all related to:

Got a copy of the announcement from a BMW dealer today --

BMW M Performance Power Kit Now for Post 7/13 Production 335i and 435i Vehicles

The Ultimate Driving Machine gets an exhilarating boost in performance thanks to the new M Performance Power Kit. All BMW 335i and xDrive Sedans (F30/F34) and all 435i and xDrive Coupes (F32/F33) can now be retrofitted at BMW Centers for an unprecedented level of acceleration and speed. These new M Performance Power Kits (MPPK) enable new car buyers and current owners to augment the authentic motorsport heritage that is present in all BMW vehicles.

The BMW M Performance Power Kit features engine tuning software and a new M Performance Engine Air Intake system. In addition, a replacement M Performance Engine Cover and Rocker Panel Decals provide the mark of distinction this retrofit deserves.

Power Kit Highlights/Benefits:
• Horsepower increased to 335hp (35hp gain).
• Torque is increased to 332 lb-ft (automatic transmission, 32 ft/lb gain) and 317 lb-ft (manual transmission, 17 ft/lb gain)
• Faster acceleration:
o 0.2 seconds faster than the standard 335i model from 0 mph to 60 mph.
o 0.5 seconds faster than the standard 335i model from 50 mph to 75 mph.
• More dynamic accelerator pedal calibration in Sport Mode.
• “Exhaust burble” sound during engine overrun conditions.
• Sport Display now shows increased power figures (400hp and 400 ft/lbs) to reflect increased performance.
• Adheres to rigorous BMW Group test standards.
o Vehicles retain the original emission certification.
o Vehicles maintain the original fuel efficiency ratings.
• The vehicle’s original BMW Limited Warranty is not affected.
o 4 Year / 50K miles when purchased with the new vehicle
o 2 years / unlimited miles or the balance of the new vehicle warranty, whichever is greater.

Well, BMW is advertising 335 HP rather than 320 HP for the latest MPPK. However, they are staying with the same performance improvement numbers. How much is marketing hype and how much is real? I never really got any sense of numbers from people doing a before and after dynometer. I know Dinan got good numbers that were better than advertised from a MPPK for the previous 335.

My 2013 with MPPK is fabulous but it should have come that way right from the start - rather than having to pay for the kit and mess around with installation and all that busy work. BMW used to have a 335is that was offered as a top 335 model offering - why change? Most likely reason is just to make more money off 335/435 owners.

Per BMW, 435xi 0-60 takes 4.7....with ppk (0.2 faster) should take 4.5

I've mentioned this before, MT tested 335xi w/ppk and hit 60 in 4.4, exact figure as S4. Not too shabby
