My 2014 335i driver side window is squeak & rattle when you rough surface, took it back to dealer and they installed the Teflon tape around the rubber seal and problem hasn't go away. The shop foreman mentioned the rattle noise is very common among the shadow trim model, not sure if anyone had this occurred on your F30 ? TIA

I don't have experience with the Teflon tape solution. Once I applied paint sealant to the trim last March, I haven't heard any further noise.

I thought that the best solution for all these squeaks/creaks was the teflon tape according to threads I read.
If teflon tape doesn't work then that is a problem because I have my appointment for this Thursday for dealer to install teflon tape in my 2015 335i msport.

FWIW, I used this: http://www.detailedimage.com/Blackfi...P205/16-oz-S1/

I doubt that it matters much what product you use as long as it creates a semi-permanent slick surface that allows the surfaces to easily slide past each other. Although I haven't tried it, a coating from a company like Optimum, 2pple or cQuartz would probably last longer than a sealant.

Mine is still at the shop will find out soon they have done to the repair. Funny how the loaner I got from dealer had the same rattle but this time was the left rear window instead of driver side. This is a 2015 328i with only 2800 miles and built in Germany where mine was built in South Africa.
Design flaw ?

I only had the problem with driver side and dealer went ahead and installed the Teflon tape on all four windows. The noise came in & out randomly and that is why I have them recheck the repair.

Picked up my car today and all dealer did was lubing the seal and window guard no other part were replace, disappointed let's see what happened next if problem remains I will have them check it out again.
So far the Teflon tape did help to bring down the rattle but it's not completely gone.

I hear the creaking/squeaking noise (no doubt from chassis flex) on my F30 which is especially noticable on speed bumps. I have been using gummi-pflege (sp?) about once per month around the rubber seal on the upper part of the doors which make contact with the M-Sport Window trim. It lasts about 2-3 weeks and the noise starts to come back in again. My first service should be in the next month or two and will be bringing it up. Until then, the home-remedy above works good enough as I just apply it every other car wash or so. I shouldn't have to do it but I don't mind if it means I don't have to be annoyed by this on a daily basis.

My car is at the dealership and was just told that the teflon tape is helping reduce the noise but not eliminating it completely. I was also told that the tape does not look good on the car by the SA.
I thought that the teflon tape used by the dealer would be the clear tape kind? I guess I will have to head down to the dealership to see what type of teflon and where they applied the tape.

My SA said they won't do the tape and to just wipe down the surface. I clean the car weekly so it's not a big deal and keeps the noise down.

I do not know about rattle, but my squeak has been completely eliminated. Wiping down helped for a day or two for me in prior to the fix. But after the dealer applied the tape, it has not come back and not even a hint ot squeak is left. Mine was pretty bad. So far, half a year, still no sign of squeak.
Please look for the thread i made. Even pictures are there.

They installed the clear tape version and you won't be able to see it.

Picked up my car today from the dealer. With the teflon tape on so far so good with no squeaky/creaky noises to report even over speed bumps
I do notice small air bubbles and imperfections on the installed tape but not sure dealer could have done a better job.

Brand new 50K+ car and have to put a tape on so the car doesn't squeak
I like BMW and this is my 4th but
