Hey Bryan. With no dealers in New England yet, the best solution is to have
your ECU removed locally (or DIY if you feel comfortable) and have it
sent to the team at Rogue Engineering in New Jersey.

This should get you one-day shipping in each direction at regular shipping
rates, while shipping to and from our facility in California would require rush
shipping to accomplish the same thing.

Feel free to drop us a PM and I can give you more details and discuss any
other options.

The following is our HEX Tuning Stage TWO:

We haven't done any official testing to approve the use of ethanol, and
frankly we're not big fans of blending fuels. Not only is it difficult for
people to keep the appropriate ratios, E85 at the pump can be wildly
inconsistent.

Out thought is that if you're already making solid power gains on pump
gas, why further degrade your fuel economy and risk upsetting the car
if you don't have to.

That's not necessarily a calibration choice.
These are small turbos, so under load with the wastegate closed, the turbos
spool up nice and quick relative to the exhaust gas pressures.

If you look at the Stage TWO Mustang plot we just posted, the
trajectory of the torque curve is the same as stock. Since we're obviously
making more boost, torque continues to climb at the same rate, but for
longer, until boost control strategies come into play.

(This just isn't as obvious in the DynoJet plots beacause the runs start a bit
late, at around 2,500 rpm, right where the factory torque level starts to
level off.)

In fact, for most turbocharged applications your looking to achieve quicker
spool up in general. This is one of the primary reasons that factory cars
utilize two small turbos instead of one larger turbo, and why competition
race cars (for off road use only) run aftermarket downpipes.

If you really do want the turbos to spool slower, you can always relax your
right foot! Of course there are calibration strategies that can be used to limit
power as well, but these dyno plots represent total power in the higher
gears where you really want it.

Yes, it is necessary to remove and unlock the ECU in order for us to enable
port flashing. The good news is that once unlocked, all flashing processes
will take place through the OBDII port, which is (literally) less than a two
minute process.

This includes switching between Stock and Tuned MAPS, upgrading to the
next Stage Level, and any significant updates that we may release as we
go along.
Wow bm3 says its takes 30 mins to switch maps with their software.
It took 4.5 minutes the first time and less than 2 every time after that.

Who's ready for FULL OBDII Port Flashing?!?!

No more ECU Removal!
Completely User Installable,
Fully Upgradable,
and Switchable between Tuned and Stock Maps.

As most of you are currently reading across multiple threads all over this forum,
multiple tool makers have been running full speed ahead towards the finish line
with this new flashing protocol.

NOTE: This new OBDII protocol is not exclusive to VF Engineering/HEX Tuning
and will likely be shared with other tuners around the world. It is the responsibility
of the tuner to properly test the flashing processes and integrate the new utility
into their existing software program.

The actual performance software files, service and support channels, as well as the
reputation of our brand is what makes this an exciting opportunity for BMW F-series
owners around the world!

To share our excitement with the Bimmerpost Community we are going to give away
TWO FREE OBDII Port Flashes with Before & After Dyno Results at our Anaheim, CA
facility this coming week!

This will be our opportunity to demonstrate the new flashing process, as well as to highlight
the the facility where all of our software files are developed, tested, and validated prior
to consumer release.

and your availability for Monday/Tuesday.

We will be replying to PM's all weekend and will select a few lucky F-series owners by Sunday evening.

How soon will this be available for purchase? I was going to schedule a appointment to have my M235i flashed at one of your dealers but may just wait for this.
