I've been looking at the Passport 9500ci, but have yet to pull the trigger on it. My guess is that once I get my first ticket with the new 335, it will be ordered the same day.

HP-905. new model. Dual sensor is OK for F30 front protection only. If you also need rear protection (some states) then consider quad sensor.

I ran Blinder M25's on my TL, haven't installed anything on the 335.

The blinders saved me at least twice which paid for themselves.

Plus the LIE just went back to having the Suffolk County police patrolling it, and those guys love their LIDAR guns. I commute 30 miles a day and a few months after I installed the blinders on the old car, they switched to the Sheriff's who hardly ever ran speed traps.

I'm also a bit worried that installing them is going to be a nightmare on the BMW. At least with the TL I had the Factory manual for how to disassemble everything and put it back together.

I ran Laser Interceptors in my 997. Jammers will pay for themselves in no time. And I dont mean for rippin around like theres no tomorrow. I mean for the everyday drives when you might slip over the limit.

Havent got my F30 yet but I expect it any day now. I was wondering if anyone has figured a solid hiding spot for two front mount jammers?

i went with the laser interceptor bmw grill kit. I mounted them vertically in the grills because everywhere else was way too low. I had some issues with them being installed poorly, they were not level on all axis as they need to be. I bought an extra mounting bracket kit that laser interceptor sells and just did it myself. It takes some messing with to get completely perfect but i may just be crazy about it being level because i'm afraid of them not working otherwise.

Has anyone done the install themselves?

Trying to see how much of a time sink it will be if I decide to put them on.

Old school wired K40, I've been hit by police laser multiple times at very high speeds with no problem although you have to hit the brakes before they come up with KA band.

Some police have gear that can detect radar detectors because they leave a slight residual signal. Laser jammers can not be detected the same way because they actively beam laser back to the cop (hopefully) and his gun can read a jam code or nothing at all and then they will try to bust you with interfering with police duty although if its creatively mounted you can deny its existence completely. I have, and won but its a pain but better than 100+ in a 55 work zone (without workers, night time)

I'm sure you could do it your self. All you need is power and ground and run sensor cables through firewall into cabin to connect to CPU. Mine is mounted to the left of the speedo/dash. There is a little plastic piece that comes off where the door normally pushes up against, my CPU is in there. It's basically in the speedo assembly/box.

They're not illegal in NY.

Laser Jammers and Radar Jammers are illegal in the states of Nebraska, Minnesota, Utah, California, Oklahoma, Virginia, Colorado, Illinois and Washington DC.
For the most part the heads are extremely hard to spot, and if you wire them to a kill switch (in my old car I used the power window fuse so I could toggle them on and off with the power window lock button) then once you slow down to a reasonable speed you can turn them off so the officer can get a reading.

Don't get the 9500ci for its jammers. Its radar detection is top notch but the included jammers perform very poorly. Blinders or Laser Interceptors are both good choices, and right now the tests seem more in favor of LI's.

For those that have installed in a F30, how easy was the installation? Did it take a lot of effort to wire it through the firewall?

I dont have a jammer.. but Ive had my Valentine V1 for about 3 years now... havent gotten a ticket since... best $400 you can spend in my book... its saved me SO many times... and if cops see it, they know that you know they didnt tag you and so they dont even bother writing the ticket... I LOVE this thing!

A V1 that detects laser is basically a ticket alarm. I run a V1 also, but if a cop hits you with Lidar a V1 offers no protection, only the alert.

There is a slim chance that you can catch some lidar spray that bounces off the car in front of you in time to slow down, but in general assume if you see a cop running laser and get a laser hit:

1: You weren't going fast enough for him to care
2: He was actually aiming at different vehicle and you just happened to get some scatter.

Around here, often times officers will only run laser on a single lane of traffic like the HOV lane. But if it's their time of the month to make some money they'll just set up shop and pick people off one by one.
