EURO delivery - License plate question

If I do the Euro delivery, I'd still like to keep my front bumper entirely plate-free and holes-free when my car arrives in the USA.

So what do they do over in Germany regarding their Euro license plate? Is it mandatory? Do they drill holes in the front bumper (which would have a different hole pattern than the USA license plate hole pattern)? What have been people's experience?

The German plate is attached with double sided tape. No holes are drilled.

I printed several notices to leave the plates in the trunk and left one on the dash, seats, and trunk to make sure I didn't lose my ED plates. If you're contemplating ED, the "other bimmer" forum has a very informative ED forum and wiki that you should check out.

Here is the multilingual plate notice to leave in your car after you drop it off at the end of your trip.

Like everyone said, leave the note in the car. As far as I know the holes are drilled at your local dealer when they put on their "advertising" plates. Just make sure to tell your dealer to leave the euro plates on or that you don't want a front plate put on.

No problem, enjoy the trip! I did my Euro Delivery in August, 2012...it was a very cool experience, I just wish I spent more time over there with the car. I will absolutely do ED again the next time around.
