I have the same issue with a retrofitted original towbar from BMW so with the original control modules.

In my previous E91 with a aftermarket Westfalia electronic box (for BMW) it worked instantly without even coding needed.

Did you got a solution yet or does someone knows what to check within the coding.
I have added 3AC to VO and coded AHM, perhaps REM needs coding as well?

When writing this I thought of coding the REM module since this one is controlling the PDC.

After coding REM module the PDC was disabled and a the towbar knob was shown in the PDC screen.

I also added MACRO_TRAILER_COUPLING aktiv in HU_NBT which gave me trailer zoom function

Okay so I do need the AHM module which I don't think I have.

My car was in for service and an update for some Bluetooth issues.
They thought it was a to big risk to update the car since there were VO changes without having the appropriate control devices installed.
This was for the towbar and a speed limit into emulator.

I was ok by putting it back to factory settings and do the coding again but the didn’t want to this.
So I will VO code it back to Original and let them try again.

Will there be a way to code the needed control units without adding the option in VO?

All VO Codes can be FDL coded.
For that I recommend the NCD / CAFD tool.
This program shows the individual codes for every VO code.

But there's no need to write/add the VO codes to your car.
Only change VO, code the car with the changes but don't write the changed VO to your car (so don't push the button "Write FA FP").

Ok, very good to know.
So I can also get the current settings, revert back to original VO and make a comparison of the settings?
What will be the best way to get back to original?
I think I have saved the original VO and I know which options I have added so I can also remove these off course.

I added the towbar, speed limit info and sport automatic gearbox.

Thanks!

Yes, you can save the current settings, revert back to original VO and make a comparison of the settings.
The best way to get to original is to load the original VO and code the changed ecus.
