Have your read the remainder of this thread?
I don't believe it's a matter of setting anything up, you need to retrofit the full factory BMW alarm system to the car. If the car didn't come wired from the factory with the alarm your stuck going aftermarket.

If you have the alarm it sets itself. I always have my radio on, and when I park I only hit the ignition button once. That leaves the radio on. Hearing it after I get out of the car reminds me to lock it, which also turns the radio off.

This was the best I've ever $400 saved! Instead, I decided to waste it on a 10.2" screen retrofit...money well spent Now to find out how I "paid for this digital cluster" hehe
