LDW - 5AD HBA = 5AC In some cars you can enable LDW and HBA to default to on position.

What if any ECU's have no CAFD or have CAFD named cafd_ffffffff-255_255_255?

Hi Mario & Evil_ss,
Did either of you get this working in Oz with the FSC code? I'm curious to see if it works now as with my 2016 330e, I get an indicator in the Kombi appear whenever I seem to be over the speed limit. This indicator is basically the letters "km/h" with an semi-circular arrow pointing anti-clockwise all in a medium blue colour. This implies to me that SLI of some sort is coded into the car, although the car does not come with the 8TH SLI option according to it's VIN. Comments form others also welcome please... thanks |

All you can do now is reset all ECU (Right-Click ECU => Code) except FEM_GW, clear errors again, restart car, and see if errors are gone. When you code DME / DDE to reset it, make sure motor is NOT running.

SLI retrofit in F30s
Hi all,
Fyi, there is now a solution in Australia for those wanting to retrofit SLI (8TH) into the F3x. Through some BMW dealers, you can now order the code for your F3x. However this will not work for all F3x. I have a 330e (manuf. Feb 16) which I had the 8TH retrofitted into it 2 months ago. I tried to get my wife's 320d (manuf. Mar 15) retrofitted with the 8TH and despite having the KAFAS2 camera, this retrofit did not work. Apparently this car does not have the upgraded camera (I thought that was the KAFAS2). Programming for both was done at Auto Classic in Perth. Their charge was $77 for the code + $220 for programming. So my suggestion to those of you who want this option is to talk to you local BMW dealer who will order the code for you if they can obtain it for your car's VIN. They will also need to order an IBAC code so that when your car is next programmed at the dealer (any dealer) your car will not lose the 8TH function. My 2c worth for sharing purposes.... Cheers guys. |

Is this Lane Depature Warning codeable?
If yes: which ECU's should be coded? I have speed limit information in my HUD. |

If you have KAFAS camera, and it seems you do if you have SLI, then to add LDW, you should be able to add 5AD to your VO and VO Code Kombi and KAFAS for LDW to work. But you also need Dash Switch to turn "On" LDW or a means to FDL Code it to be "On" by default, and you optionally need the Steering Wheel Vibrator.

Hi x5mad,
From what I understand, the answer is "no". I got this from the lead BMW Guru at my local dealership. I asked the same specific question. Sorry. Would you like to ask your local dealership the same question and see if you get a difference response? |

Hi guys!
As I am reading posts I found that it is possible to enable HBA amd maybe as well LDW if you have SLI (Speed Limit Conrol) and BSW (Blind Spot Warning) that uses KAFAS 2 camera and ECU. With BSW you also get vibrator in steering wheel. Can anyone confirm the coding procedure please: 1. VO code High Beam Assist and Line Departure Warning 2. Enable Kombi, Kafas...????!?!? what else 3. Where can I set HBA to always on as I do not want to change the physical buttons on the stick? Thank you! |

Hello,
Has anyone actually succesfully done this retrofit in its entirety? I have SLI, FCW, ACC and therefor KAFAS2. I want to retrofit HBA and LDW. From reading this thread, I understand that it is a matter of VO coding and installation of a switch for LDW, a new stalk module which supports HBA on/off and a vibrator for LDW. I assume the vibrator is in the stalk module and not the steering wheel? Please share your recent experiences with this
