BMW 435i M Perfomance exhaust: not so happy about sound!

Hi guys,

I'm the owner of a fantastic F32 435i since the 8th february!
My previous car was an E91 335xi with several modifications (Performance Exhaust, PK, I/C Wagner, DPS, ECU, etc.) and 400hp at the wheels.
Remembering the beauty full sound of my old BMW Performance exhaust, I immediately put on my new 435i the M Performance exhaust, but... It doesn't sound so good as I expected!
It's a good sound, but very different from other 435i with M Performance exhaust I've found on youtube!
That's my revving:

And that's my cold start:

Do you think it needs time to "open"? I've driven only for 2.500km at the moment...
My next upgrade will be the MPPK 250kw... Hope something will change with the exhaust sound... Mmmh...

You need to break it in. It takes a few heat cycles to temper the metal and mellow the sound. Unless you drive it really hard and get it really hot, it could take a while.

Drive the car for about 500 miles then the sound will get better and hard runs in the process should do the work.

Mmmh, I don't think so. I've driven for over 3000 km with frequent hard runs expecially in the last two weeks (my tyres dealer will be very happy...), but the sound is still far from my expectations. It sounds deeper than OEM exhaust, but nothing special and very different from some videos you can find on youtube (for example, that red 435i xdrive of late 2013...).
I'm quite sure that BMW "silented" MPE 2014 (that is different also in the tips), I don't know why...

Conversely I'm totally happy with my recently installed MPPK!
As I wrote in another 3D, the performance improvement is noticeable: 100/200kmh as passed from approssimately 13 seconds to 11 seconds!

OP I think your situation is unique in that you are coming from a heavily modified car to a somewhat tame 335i, relatively speaking. I am not surprised you are disappointed with the MPE.
