Weird Sound after alignment
Hey guys, I’d appreciate some help or recommendations.
I’ve been getting a squeak/screech/grinding sound ever since getting my alignment done. I notice it at low speeds, and also when I’m taking a turn. I still get the sound driving straight but seems like it can be provoked more while taking a corner. It is coming from the rear. I also notice it happens when I start accelerating or when I'm coming off of the gas. 3 weeks ago I had lowered my 435i X-drive, on Dinan lowering springs made for my car, and for x-drive. No issues, no sounds but I know I needed to get it aligned. 750miles later after a cross-country drive, and a week or two later, no issues. I get the car aligned and ever since I’ve had it done I’ve been getting this sound. The tech said he can’t meet the camber because I would need an adjustable steering knuckle and couldn’t do anything about the camber at the back. He had also said if I don’t mind the car leaning towards one side this is the most “friendly” option. I return to the shop and he said he thinks it’s my pads and rotors that are making the sound. Which I agreed with because the rotors were worn and pad was running on the inner lip. I change all pads to zimmerman and new hawk 5.0 pads and the issue is still happening as seen in the video taken today. Again, I’d appreciate any help or direction here. I’ll first say the tech was nice and told me to stop by if I get any issue but I wanted some other opinions first. Others have suggested that it could be the dust shield rubbing against the rotor, I checked and unfortunately that was not the fix. Video: Last edited by onyourheadtop; 05-04-2022 at 04:34 PM..
