Bumper fixed or replaced?
Hey guys, got rear ended earlier today. Was stopped at a ref light and the lady rolled or gassed into me. Not sure how, but it happened. She poked two or three holes into the bumper with the bolts on her license plate frame. The flat part on the rear bumper (right under the trunk) got pushed in and has a hump on it now. Also the bumper is dented and scraped up. Was wondering if this will be fixed or replaced when it's taken to a paint shop.

Personally since it's on her 'dime', I'd press for replacement with a new one.

I had a somewhat similar incident in my last BMW (similar damage minus the puncture). The price difference between repair and replace was around $300. I opted for the replace since doing so came with a warranty.
What you might want to consider, or factor in, is the cost of a rental vehicle. I think it was a week before I got mine back. Had to allow paint to dry. Since that's likely on your dime I'd lean toward the more expensive replace (assuming fixing is even possible). |

When plastic is deformed, penetrated or damaged on a body line built into plastic - most often replacement is warranted.
