Can't on mine, the only options on idrive are for the main button to unlock just driver's or all doors and how high I want the tailgate to open. Got into the habit of locking as soon as the tailgate starts opening, will lock on close then.

I fell victim to my f31 tailgate opening in the garage of all places. Not even a week old and a nice trip to the paint shop. Thankfully the damage isn't too bad and affordable.
