Importing music into idrive/ sound quality

I notice when I import music from a HDD/USB the music file sounds different than the original. I'm not sure if it's a lost in quality or not since my HK sound system haven't broken in yet. Can anyone confirm if you lose sound quality when you import music into idrive?

Not sure about the usb to hard drive, but I've transferred a few albums from CDs to the hard drive and the sound was just as good as the playing the actual CD.

I don't think that there is any resampling done.
