For anybody wanting one I'm selling a 335 exhaust $120. No scratches. Just a bit dirty. Lol.

What do you think about this, could it work if I make an angle cut to get the pipes lined up and then slide both inside the ends of this adapter and then clamp on each side.

Outer diam. 73/76,1/79mm

Inner diam. 70/73/75,8mm

Section length 70mm = 2100 mm total

Have you measured the 328i pipes vs. the 335i? Cause on a german forum they said that the 328i pipe is smaller than what´s stated on realoem..

I would just use the OEM clamp if I were you. Worked great for me, you just need to make sure everything lines up when making your cut. You can fit the 328i clamp over the 335i piping but it will take a bit of work. If you have access to a good sander you can sand down the outside of the 335i piping to help it out. It wont be too bad, worst case scenario, you take it to a muffler shop like I did.

So the clamp that comes with the 335i performance muffler, will not work and I have to get the 328i equivalent? And is it doable without any welding at all, you had an extra pipe section welded, was that because u didnt cut it correct? I´m not gonna do it myself, my friends cousin will do it but I´m just trying to figure out the scope

The 335i clamp may work. I just never had one to test out. I bought the 328i clamp so when I want to reinstall the old muffler I knew I wouldn't need to buy another clamp. It really all depends on the cut, mine didn't work out as smooth as it could have due to the cut location/angle. That's why we welded a small piece in their to help with alignment. You really wont know the scope until you make the cut. Good luck!

Hopefully it will, but we´ll see in a few weeks when I get the rest of the parts I ordered like the diffuser and the right or left 335i-exhaust-hanger that doesnt have the same article nr as the 328i´s. Will have a fog delete done as well :-)

Thanks yet again

Well I would guess the standard 335i muffler is less restrictive than the 328i's, as should the M Perfomance one be as well. It should perhaps sound more also..

I think a 335 MP muffler would be perfect. But I guess it depends on your taste and if you're running a catless downpipe with it.

Yeah, I was looking to fit up the 335 style m perf muffler, but as its a bit of an $outlay, I wanted to be sure it wouldn't be any louder than say the 328 m perf unit. Not sure why a '6' muffler should sound louder running on a '4', all other elements staying OEM.
I'm keen to ensure I don't end up with a system that drones, or has obtrusive cabin noise.
Cheers
Hopefully mine will be here this week and the rest of the parts like the 335 diffuser maybe by next week...and then I'll have an answer for you. I took a chance with the m perf as well, got a little baby in the back plus I have the touring meaning more resonance in the trunk area.. If its too much I might get rid of it pretty quickly, unless I can work it out with dropping a gear to get the revs above 2000 since drone mostly comes at <2000 rpm

Somewhat along the lines of this thread...

Would a 335 exhaust from catback be a direct bolt on to the 328? Reason why I ask is because I am trying to get rid of my stock 335 exhaust since I am going to replace it with a Borla exhaust (catback). If this would fit directly onto a 328, then maybe I can convince someone to pick up my stock catback.

The flanges that connect to the downpipe are different.

The M-Sport has a removable rear diffuser and uses the same bumper as the 335i. I just swapped out the 328i rear diffuser with the 335i rear diffuser.
