I noticed on the 2016 328i x drive loaner/rental, someone has stolen 3/4 valve stem caps. Believe it or not, even OEM BMW is only like 35 cents to $1.40, p/n 36111095436.

What is disappointing is it doesn't look like the ones that were on the '07 335 coupe are even made anymore, the new ones look like what you'd get in a 4 pack at Home Depot for 94 cents, except they are silver. I better bolt them down on my own car!

I was missing one on my car. Not sure if someone took it or service department forgot the last one (didn't notice that it was missing for a while). It's cheap but still a hassle to go buy a replacement.

I know all 4 were there before, because I checked the air pressure 2X. Can't be sure when they were removed because obviously not looking at them each time the vehicle is driven...

On a bright note, since I was searching for the p/n and it lead to diagrams of the wheels.....I'm surprised that genuine center caps are only $2.50 ea. That's really not bad.

Got some new ones for $0.94 plus tax, but while I was in the store, they were giving away free lunches--hoagie, chips, Powerade.

Plus I added another to the ignore list, that's the beest part.

I know, on the one hand, why not take the 3 HP gain? But I just feel wrong about putting M stuff on non M cars......

all kidding aside it's wrong to just take things off of other people's cars, it's not the value, it's the idea that we're numb to it.... oh I lost my ski poles, I'll just grab someone else's when we get there...

edit: here's a pic of the free lunch, it wasn't bad. Technically, if I didn't have to get the valve stem caps, I wouldn't have been in the store to get it, so the thief bought me lunch!

Yep, do they exist anymore? That's what my car has. realoem now shows the same caps for a '16 328 and a '07 335....

I keep extras in my M6 for this very reason. They are stolen on a regular basis and it was taking years off my life getting pissed about it. Cost of ownership.

Take it as a compliment, buy extras keep them in the glove.. distribute them as candies amongst the kids

Interesting, seriously, has never happened to me before. My buddy would say relax, it's just a rental, but I treat it as if it were my own, and I know they were there before when I checked the tire pressure. Being so cheap, I was just surprised that people would grab them up.

Although, on my own car, I would not want the replacements to be black, I would prefer the originals...

IDK. My 2010 135i did not come with them. I suspect that someone at my selling dealership(Military Car Sales) switched them out. My car is a US spec car(TPMS) but I took delivery at a German dealer here. Ohh well. It really doesn't bother me.

I treat all car's the same way, as well. I don't want someone fuqing up my car and I don't do it to any vehicle in my care.
