Talking The Cure 2016 - Merriweather last night

Anyone on this forum go last night? Any locals? Last night it was a blast! Twilight Sad opened up for them which was good. The Cure brought the house down of course. This was my 16th! Followed them back in college...Texas and surrounding states. This was my sons 1st Cure concert. What a great time!

I've seen him back in the 80's until now...YES he still sounds great! Usually Live concerts are sometimes weak but last night was awesome! Brings me back to when I was 18...30 years later... just like the first time I saw them without the "left" handed cigarettes. LOL.

They still sound good. Wondering what the name if the guitarist on Roberts right? I forgot his name... he looked pretty gnarly but still cool as ever at the same time. The memories since 1985 make this so great!

Love the Cure--I've seen many bands in my time and them, Sublime and Duran Duran are ones I wish I have seen. I've been watching some of their recent shows on YouTube and they look to still be up to speed. Duran Duran as well--they seem to still play in Europe.

Last night was as good if not better than when I first saw them in Houston back in 1985. Drummer now (Jason Cooper) isn't even close to original Laurence Tolhurst which I found to be a little off last night at times but still pretty dam good. Simon still rocks the bass.

This being my favorite Cure concert was because my son, 19 , was there with me. Kinda cool that father and son can enjoy The Cure together. Time capsule for sure but still one hell of a time! Makes me sad and happy all in one. Just a great experience together.

It was all walks of life ya know. Typical concert goers. From old to young, goth folk, old hippie type. It was great. I was surprised how many OLD Cure fans there actually are. Good to see people my age.

Place went absolutely crazy when they came out. Everyone stands up, raises their arms and just screams! Place went nuts. Totally off the hook insanity! Loved every second of it.

...very true. Gotta do some research on why in the F he put together this song. Makes me wonder. If he sung that today he would definitely get destroyed. And yes todays society is so sensitive about these things it really would start a riot.
