328i Sport Alpine White 6 spd MT ordered

Just placed my order on a 328i Alpine White

-8 speed auto with sport paddle shifters
-Sport package
-Alpine White
-Premium package
-Xenon lights
-Black leather with red highlights
-Black mirror caps
-Cold Weather package
-Aluminum trim
-Coral red highlights

I really wanted to keep the car as basic as possible but I'm still undecided on whether I should have addded the premium and xenons. I have a few weeks to adjust the order. I'm wondering with the new packaging if we'll see more BMWs with only halogens?

i passed on the xenons, they are cool but not worth 4600...also went with the auto over the manual...having some second thought but i think the ZF will be fine.

I personally think Premium is worth it, worst mistake I made not getting it on my E90. Everyday conveniences like leather, power seats, auto-dimming mirrors and comfort access will be sorely missed without it.

I paid the 1450 for the leather, but i will only drive the car, so i dont need power seats to change the driving position, never use the moonroof, the autodimming mirrors are cool, but not necessary...to add ZPP and xenon would be like another 80-100 a month on the lease lol

Does the rear view mirror have the compass if he car does not have premium?

No compass without ZPP.

What else do you lose without ZPP?

I only put about 100 miles per week on my car, and rarely at night, so the conveniences aren't quite as important to me. However, I am concerned how the car will look without the xenons/corona rings. Unfortunatley, I havent seen many BMWs running around without to get an idea.

Whole lot to be said for the clean approach you've taken. I made the leap for a 335 on my order so the premium didn't seem so much of a jump, then I really splurged and got the Nav and HUD. Was going to wait for the M-Sport but too much $ for mainly aesthetics. Did you check for Performance Center delivery? Living in GA made it too tempting to pass up, ED just takes too long after you've taken delivery. The AutoSpies video of them driving the 328 speaks volumes for what a kick that car will be with a 6MT. Congrats!

Leather, power seats, power folding mirrors, comfort access, autodimming mirrors, moonroof, lumbar support, universal garage door opener. Hell, it's worth it just for the autodimming mirrors. I got so fed up not having those in my current car that I had them retrofitted. Probably the best "mod" I've done

Ick, try owning a car for a while. My M Coupe interior rear view mirror failed at about seven years and poured the toxic goo that allows the autodimming onto the center console. A new mirror from the dealer was $445, but $15 for non-dimming. With tinted windows, I also find that the autodimming makes things too dark.

As for corona rings, I know I'm in the minority, but I have them turned off on my 1er, I just find them annoying, so getting a car without them would not be a negative to me. HID's are nice, but the unfortunate grouping of them into ZPP just means I'll pass on them for my F31.

You are forgetting interior/exterior ambient lighting. I didn't get premium on my 1er and I miss having good interior lighting, stock is dreadful.

The rest of the premium package I can live without for many of the reasons already mentioned in this thread.

I went with the Black leather with red highlights.

I have a few more days to decide on my final options. After seeing the live photo of the car in NJ without xenons I'm a little less concerned but still uncertain. BMW really made it a tough decision to not go with the premium package.

Decided to opt for the premium package and xenons. Not happy that BMW packaged the xenons this way but just felt it in the end it was worth the extra money.

Xenons are a must. Not only do they add aesthetic value with the Angel eyes, they are highly superior to halogens functionally. It is too bad that they must be bundled with ZPP but ZPP does add functionality that one would expect on a $40K automobile...

Not at any price. I would prefer them but (I had them on my previous Bimmer), but no way I would pay 900$ for them, much less a premium package just for this. So I don't feel that they are a "must".

totally agree, they would be nice, and if you got the $ go for it. But from my stand point, it would basically cost me 3000 to get headlights...i just cant justify that. Maybe on my next car when i have a little more $

the xenons do look cool tho
