Stock Audio
Hey Guys,
I have a 2013 320xi, I have noticed that I only have 4 speakers and well the sound sucks lol, I am kinda disappointed that for the amount of money I have spent on this car it doesn't come with a better sound system. That being said my question is: What would you recommend: Option 1) Harmon Kardon Upgrade - Price yet to be determined Option 2) Bavsound.com Stage 1 kit Please let me know what you have and what do find is the best for your money. Thanks, Ghost |

The price difference between the Bavsound Stage 1 upgrade and the HK Audio system isn't that much. If there's not a substantial savings or a significant improvement in performance, I'd rather just get it straight from the factory.

New door panels, new panel between the backseat and back window, new speakers, new HK "amp," new wiring, etc.
That sounds fun. |

If it makes you feel any better, there are two more 'speakers' with the basic audio - two subwoofers under the front seats; albeit I wouldn't call anything less than 8" a subwoofer... still counts
But yeah, the sound is fairly disappointing in any case. If I'd thought to give it a listen when I test drove my 320d, I would have certainly upgraded. |

Ghost:
The subs in the HiFi system are under grills flush with the floor under each front seat. They aren't really visible just glancing under the seat. Unless the real "base" stereo is available in Canada (I have no idea if it is), you should also have an amp under a black metal rain guard under the plastic storage tray in the left rear of the trunk. If you have the HiFi setup, there are a bunch of upgrade options available for you. |

BMW do the Alpine Hifi upgrade if you have the base system which costs around £500 in the UK but I am not sure what it replaces, I know that you get the two tweeters and the trim for the door.
