Thanks for the tip. And, yes, it looks like you are right. Using that same configurator, it also appears that Platinum Silver replaces Orion Silver while Mediterranean Blue has displaced Sparkling Bronze (though I don't know if I'd call that one a replacement, strictly speaking).

Visually this is a pretty mild makeover. Only a test drive will tell, but I'm worried about the suspension tweaks. My E90 was definitely more tidy in the handling department.

I suppose tho based on how much confusion still exists around xdrive vs RWD suspensions i doubt they will detail it out. (not asking for information, just commenting on how this board has to constantly answer questions on suspensions because BMW does not make it clear online or in their print materials)
As soon as the LCI is on the parts system we will know what changed.
So 1 June or 1 July

xdrive vs RWD can be looked up now for pre-LCI

Anyone know about any new wheel styles for the 340? On the global BMW site, the visualizer is up and it shows style 398 wheels in black/dark gray.

I don't think pricing information is available yet for the 340i.

The 340i will be priced competitively against the C400. The C450 and B9 S4 will have base MSRP > $50k.

right.... the C450 should start at 52-54k. The C400 (base price of $49,515).....

With 320hp, hopefully we see the 340i start at 47k.

Hoping a ~370hp M340i is coming with ~54k base. Need to fill the gap between the M3 IMO.

Hopefully the f30 feels more solid on the road. Also, I hope the steering doesn't feel rubbery. I googled the 2018. 3 series, and I will say it looks much nicer than the current 3 series.

There will be no M340i until the new 3er in 2018. BMW doesn't see the need now, as the M3 is just 425hp. The Germans are adamant that there needs to be at least 100hp difference between their high performance models (M3/M4 AMG C63 etc) and their top regular models. The C450 is roughly 100hp less than the base 63, and its a similar case with this new 340i. Its all mind games though, as BMW advertise the 340xi 0-60 as 4.6 seconds, thats a very powerful 320 hp engine!

Google not only mines your personal data but they also have infiltrated the deepest levels of BMW. Amazing!

No one is going to rumor that an upcoming model looks worse than the current one.

I think the current 3 series is beautiful but to each their own, I guess.

Upon further thought.. The MY2018 3er should look identical to the MY2016. So, technically his comment makes sense. 😀

I guess the new headlights will not make the cut after all. I knew I should have consulted Google for the definitive answer!

47k? I highly doubt BMW is planning a 3k+ price bump for an LCI even with some mild new standard equipment.

Cobb working on it? SO much easier than the JB4 that you have to fight with before every visit to the dealer (if under warranty)!!

And 47k on the 340i wouldn't surprise me given the new headlights! (sarcasm)

I'll hold my LCI opinion until test drives tell us what the tweaks to the suspension and steering yield.

So, how'd you explain the M235i at 320bhp and the M2 reported to come out at 365bhp? (Ok 365 is just rumored at this point, but we know it'll definitely be quite a bit less than the M3/4's 425, so 365 is certainly plausible.)

Agreed. M235i is a great success. M340i would be too. And a few websites have spy photos of what they believe is the M340i testing. Google it.

I don't think so. Since 2012 they haven't cracked any new tunes. German engineering might have topped their intelligence and noticed how much advertisement and attention has them on mustang ecoboost, Ford Focus st, and Ford Fiesta st. Cobb would be excellent for f30.
