Sport Mode coding

I drive primarily in Sport Mode in the city and really enjoy the responsiveness of the throttle. However, the way the transmission sometimes hang onto lower gears causes the car to act abruptly and leaves a lot to be desired.

Is there a way to code the car so that in Sport Mode it would retain the responsive throttle but the transmission would behave more relaxed as it would in Comfort Mode?

Thanks.

I use the sport mode but keep the selector in "D", gives me the perfect combo for everyday driving.

That's what I do too, but the shifter in D in Sport Mode still causes the transmission to shift more aggressively and hang onto lower gears longer. That's what I'm trying to avoid. I like the way the transmission behaves in Comfort. I would like to combine that with the throttle responsiveness in Sport.

Go to your iDrive menu under vehicle settings. There's a selection there where you can choose steering + throttle, or individual steering or throttle for Sport mode. I have mine set up for steering only and that stiffens up the steering but leaves the throttle at comfort level. When I want both, I select Sport+ mode which also turns off the DSC.

Configurable Sport mode seems to be a late 2015/2016 i-drive feature even on cars w/o DHP. Just had my '15 GC serviced and asked them if they could add this and it took about 5 minutes to get my service writer to comprehend what I was asking for - needless to say they told me I was out of luck.

You can code that function if you know how to code. Check the coding forums, it's in one of the PDFs. Did it on my 2013 F30.

You can get a throttle module that adjusts the responsiveness allowing you to have a very responsive throttle feel without the need for the car to be in Sport/Sport+ mode.

So sport+ will firm up my suspension if I turn it off in iDrive setting for Sport?
