Looks like they do have LED bars from that picture, the LED row of bulbs probably serve as brake lights and turn signals.

Sorry guys, I found these photos from a FB group for you guys. I think they are quite popular in Asia, apparently there are a few makers and they are a bit different, but I am not sure of the details. The pics that I posted are the ones made in Taiwan and they cost somewhere around $400 in the FB group, here is a seller in Taiwan that sells for $4XX and ships to worldwide if you contact them.

They're made in Taiwan by Taiwan Lamp Co. LTD. Quality must be decent since it's a popular tail light over there from what I found via my research. Sadly I can't find anyone selling it other than Bimmian, or the Taiwanese link above.

Everything is made in China these days, what could be so bad? Any more pics of the turn signal or the brakes or rear fogs on?

How do you replace an led if it goes out? See it on the highway on semi-trucks. Annoying to say the least. Especially after I laid out 425 bucks for it.

You hope they come apart nicely and break out the soldering iron (and hope you can get hold of an LED the same spec)

A lot of semi's don't have resistors going to the LED's and they get shorted out over time. I would think these tail lights have the proper resistor/canbus combination so the LED's never short out or burn out.

LED rarely would need replacement and if they go bad, they would need individual replacement. That would mean opening the tail lamp and replacing that individual LED, a process which involves soldering etc. What I find funny about these is that they have that exposed heat sink in the back. Not sure why. My VW has OEM LED tail lamps made by Hella and they do not have any heat sink, at least not exposed. MY VW has nearly 150K miles and is nearly 10 years old and the LED tail lamps look and operate as if they are new. My biggest concern with these is the quality of LED and overall quality. If they are good quality they should least at least 10 years if not more. |

Interestingly, there's less noise in the photo of the rear lights than there is of the brake lights which implies the brake lights aren't as bright as the standard rear lights. I'd be concerned about that tbh.
