No Acceleration f30 335

Hey guys,
Car is in the shop. Went to merge on highway, mashed pedal, no acceleration. Pulled off the highway, car was fine, no codes. Hr or so later, same thing, pedal to the floor once i hit about 30 mph, no acceleration. Appears oil temp is dropping as well. Stock. Anyone else had this issue, fix?

Sounds like your car went into a limp mode. It's happened to others and there are plenty of threads about this.

Good luck with the repairs, dealer will fix it

My car did the same recently. Mine wasn't limo mode, though. I've been in limp mode before and my RPMs don't go passed 3k. This time I put the pedal to the floor and RPMs went passed 3k but no acceleration at all.

Wouldn't limp mode show some type of warning?

No. The fans get really loud though and your revs are limited.

When I brought it in though, I was told that the car does store faults/codes that the dealer can then read and repair. They picked it up from scanning my key.

I also thought in Limp mode the car would continue this way for a while. The first time this happened today I was unable to accelerate for about 10 seconds then the car was fine.

Just happened to my 2013 335i a month ago! Take it to the dealer. I had a radiator fan start to fail which caused the car to go into limp mode.

Limp mode . We really need to come up with a better term for this. Some of us are at that age where that could imply other things.

Aux cooling fan failure, particular to M-Sport models. Had mine replaced twice since 3/2013 delivery, but no failures in past 18 months.

Of the engine sound is louder than normal.....probably it is the Charge pipe failure.
