Nice! Congrats. Do you notice any booming/rumbling/drone at around 1500-2000 rpm under load at around 40-50mph?

Also, did you paint the Bav Auto diffuser? That is the one I used as well. Fit is about 90% but worth the cost savings. Last exhaust upgrade is to get the 3.5" or 4" tips from Cyba. I think the stock tips are a little small. Post pics!

Because my car is white, I simply left the diffuser all matte black. Which is a huge improvement over the glossy grey of the stock one. The only mod I've painted to match the body is the m-perf lip spoiler I stuck on earlier in the year.

Regarding the sound at that speed, I honestly can't comment because it's cold and my windows were up by the time I got past 3rd. I'll try to make note of it the next time I hit those speeds. I just know that most of the nice rumbling was heard/felt around 1st and 2nd gear. Hell, even at idle the sound is so much nicer and fuller.

My whole goal was to simply get symmetry on the rear and I wasn't expecting much of anything from the sound. But now that I've heard it, I can never go back. Weird how a simple little change in tone can alter my perception so much when driving the exact same car.

Do you have pics of how you painted the front spoiler? I have a white car too and was planning to have just the society's splitters painted white.

Sorry, I should've said rear lip spoiler. I don't plan to add anything to the front. Regarding the droning sound you mentioned, I didn't notice any of them. I normally keep between 2k and 3k before switching gears, but I hung around 1.5k and 2k at 40 in 5th and didn't notice any noises that particularly stood out. Here are some pics of the new exhaust and diffuser:

With the cold weather hitting hard now, I finally noticed the closed exhaust valve on the left tailpipe. Again, because I'm OCD when it comes to symmetry, I just HAD to do something about the exhaust cloud. Read about the golf tee mod and how others had unplugged the exhaust valve wire. Here's a video guide I found online that I referenced:

Taped everything back nice an tight and covered up the open harness. Taking my car in for oil service today and will see if the service guys make a stink about it or that I swapped out my muffler...

I found a 435 exhaust on ebay ($250 shipped) with less than 5k miles on it after the owner swapped it out for the MPE. Based on what I had read online, I was expecting the hanger for the right tailpipe to be off and that the tip itself would be off center. Well, that's not the case with the 435 exhaust. The rods fit right into the hangers and the tip is centered. I used the generic M performance diffuser from Bavauto ($170 shipped). Lastly, because my car is owned, I decided to forego the clamp and had the main pipes welded directly to each other. Labor was another $170 here in Tyson's Corner, VA. So for around $600, I was finally able to restore some symmetry to the rear-end of my car.

Immediately I was loving the look. But after they started her up and rolled off of the lift, the louder low rumble planted a big ass grin on my face.
I just piced up my 428i Xdrive yesterday so let's the mods begin ;-)
Gumbico, can you please tell me if you got the 435 exhaust from a F32/F33 or a F36? I noticed that there are different numbers for them, do you or anybody else know what's the reson for that.

F32/F33 Rwd & Xdrive

F36 Rwd & Xdrive

Also, do you think your choice of diffuser made the tips be more centered?

Tnx in advance

Awesome man, congrats on the new ride! My exhaust was off of an F32 - 2014 435i. I can imagine why the F36 would be different due to the longer body of the gc. As for the diffuser, I don't think it made much of a difference. I believe things lined up as they did simply because the exhaust was going back onto essentially the same chassis. More specifically, my 428i had the hook mount for the right tailpipe that lined up perfectly. Some folks had to jerry-rig that bit and it may be the reason why things didn't get centered right off the bat.

The look, feel, and sound of this mod was definitely worth it for me.

I definitely get pops. Up and down. It's not crazy loud, but they are definitely there.

The only issue is that it has got a bit more oompf at higher speed, should be due to faster exhaust evacuation since the 335i MPE is less restrictive. Hadmine for +2 years now.

Sound is better, performance is better. All is good

Well done! I have heard that finding used mufflers in Europe is difficult and they are really expensive. Do you mind me asking what you had to pay? I paid $150 for a used one that was practically new.

Thanks man. Yeah it wasn't easy but finally I managed to find this one in exelent condition. I payed about $450 incl shipping. A new one from BMW would cost $980 without the endtips...
