Yea, plus the mod is pointless since there's no change in exhaust note.
I think this is normal and the flap is only closed on cold start. Has anyone else actually confirmed that it closes again after warmup while you're driving around?

I suppose if the normal function on your car is to shut the flapper while you're out driving, then yea that might make a difference. What you're describing seems to be normal for me. Since delivery I've been impressed with how loud the stock exhaust is... must be because once warm, my flapper remains open by default.

Anybody interested in an override mod for the actuator? Thinking of intercepting the open/close signal at the harness and wiring it to a 3 position switch you could mess with while driving (open always, normal, closed always)

So this is normal? It sounds so ghetto as I can hear it sometimes when I let off the gas pedal when driving in city streets. |

I will say, though, that my wife drives around solely in comfort mode and she hasn't said a single thing about hearing the actuator while driving around town... and she would certainly say something if it was noticeable!

So i did this. And after i did it. Apparently it wasnt tight enough, so there was movement down there. so i went back down to redo it. as i was taking off the wire to re-secure it again, i noticed that the too wouldnt line up if i decided to put the spring back in there. does the motor turn a bit more without the spring then it does with the spring (im guessing spring holds it back from going all the way) since there a grove in inside the exhaust to prevent the flap from going further then allowed.
If i look at the motor side if i were to put the spring on that side it wouldnt go in, the top of the spring wouldnt fit due to the bracket that holds the motor. Can someone check to see if there is like that too? Has anyone tried to put the spring back? BTW, does this waste more gas? After the mod i see my miles per tank dropping quickly. |

I don't see how it could effect the gas mileage. I guess anything is possible. I do see a difference between sport+ and comfort modes. Plus my driving habits could negatively impact my gas mileage.

Today I just disconnected the electrical harness and tucked it away. The flap remains open. Errors be damned. |

Ok. sounds kinda scary having to be to under the car holding it. Afraid it might pop and fly at me. Did you use any tool to help hold it in place, if so what tool? How fast does it actually turn?

Used a needle noise plier. It doesn't turn too quickly. Good luck!

So I've been driving around with the Actuator unplugged for the past week. It is definitely louder. There is a drone at highway speeds if you leave the RPM around 3k and above. However, on the highways, I usually try to cruise at 2.5k. So the drone isn't an issue for me. The sound is really pleasant. Try it out for a week.
