New f30, Crayonish smell when A/C comes on?
Hey guys, new member to the club here! Really excited about everything so far but wanted to find out further about something I've noticed.
I only have 400 km's clocked in but sometimes when I turn on the A/C (cool) there's a faint plastic/crayon scent (wish I could describe it better) that lasts for about 30 seconds then goes away. Is this normal? It's almost similar to the "new car scent" but slightly different. |

It is part of the BMW new car smell... If it really bothers you they make air freshener inserts, that will cover it up. I'm sure it's a combination of low VOC paint and the cosmoline that they apply at the factory.

Hmm, interesting. This was a common thing with the E46/E36 chassis. I believe they were able to attribute the "crayon-like" smell to the adhesives used in the interior. Not sure if this also applies to the newer gens
