To my opinion, it has the potential to become the best bimmer of all times! There is no car on this earth that combines these conflicting objectives as well as this one does:

1. Omnipresent brutal power, but docile and warm, like a sleeping puppy on your lap & extreme frugality in consumption/CO².
2. Foolproofness in exploiting the potential and having fun during the process.
3. Robustness, composure, fine balance and comfort.
4. Every day practicality for the family, while intimate and balanced like a two seater every time you expect it to be.
5. Acceptable running costs/TCO and omnipresent abundant owner experience during all occasions.
6. It also moves when it has snowed! And it certainly does when it didn't!

Whether it's an executive reception at the castle in black tie or a serpentine in the black forest or the Nordschleiffe.... It's always the car you would dream to have at your disposal! To this respect, it even beats the M5, at half the price.

This is probably a new benchmark for years to come. Man, this is the summit of what bimmers are all about! Wow!

Ummmmm....correct me if I'm wrong but, 630 newton/meters is like what?
465 lb/feet of torque?
Christ, that's more than the current 550.

Yep, diesels produce a lot of torque! I definitely do miss my CLS 63 - that had 465 lb-ft of torque, and it was just extremely fun.

A 335d sDrive with 8AT would be mega. It will wag its tail like a demented Alsation.

6MT on a 335d would be a disaster. The manual gearbox will be in pieces with all that torque.

I thought Swedish people were all earth friendly and stuff. What's with the diesel love? You know... Nox, fine particles and the stinky air.

What about Dodge Vipers, Corvette ZR1s, Mustang GT500s etc, cars with 500-600lb ft of torque with 6mts and nice factory warranties

In fact, the ZR1 with over 600 lb-ft is only available with a manual transmission, just like the Z06.

My Z06's transmission is holding up just fine (470 lb-ft when stock).

With everyone trying to push the performance envelope diesels may be the next battle front. Audi just announced that the A6/A7 is good for 5.5s to 60 with the tdi engine (240/428). You can expect around 5.2 with the A4 if the same engine ends up there.
