I get about 25 mpg in my 328i GT with an average speed of about 30 mph. Almost all town driving. I always drive ecopro, though, and I do a lot of coasting down hills. I also utilize the cruise control.

Keep a close eye on the fuel consumption gauge and make sure that your driving habits keep it falling in the 50-20 range you're looking for.

I don't know how you guys can drive this car without stomping it around town.

I drove from Los Angeles to Las Vegas and was extremely pleased to average 26 mpg on all highway miles last week.

On any given normal week I drive around 300-400 miles, and I always average around 20 mpg.

I have no clue how to get it above 30 mpg. Absolutely none. It's just not possible. Oh wait, I'd have to be the opposite sex, add on 50 years to my age, and not enjoy driving.

if you want to enjoy driving you will get 20 mpg ( at least its not 9mpg like i had it on my M6 V10), if you want save on gas drive in eco-pro 55-65mph like 50 years old female and you will get 35+ easy hwy miles

All Hwy driving in comfort mode.
Update Sep 5, 2014: 360 mile trip on flat Texas hwy = 30mpg @ 82mph
Combined 50-50 city/hwy over 3 months = 23 to 23.5mpg
All in comfort mode

I think I could get 36mpg on the highway if I kept it under 70 but don't see any way to drive normal and get 23mpg in the city

Is this MPG common other 328GT drivers?
OP, I had an F30 328 xdrive non sport rental recently and I got a ~35 mpg highway going 70 mph with speed control and around 25-27mpg in 50/50 driving

Cruising speed and using speed control make a big difference, as does how gently you accelerate from a stop.

My GUESS is your are cruising at a faster speed and using a lot of throttle when accelerating. If you are into the boost, the mpg takes a big drop. Also, with the GT bodystyle and xdrive your car has the weight of a small crossover SUV, so if you compare with SUV and not RWD 328i you are doing great.
