iPhone tether recommendations/Is it worth it?
I have two questions
1) What features do you get when you tether iPhone with iDrive? Is it worthwhile? Do you use it often? have you tried getting twitter feeds or FB updates? 2) Any recommendations on app to use for tethering from Cydia store? I already jailbroke my iPhone 5. I don't want to freckin pay AT&T 50 bucks to allow me tethering. Also I have an unlimited data plan which I only use about 2GB/mo. I am well aware that they throttle/limit bandwidth after 3-5GB of usage. Just want to experiment with it to see if it is something I'd be interested in doing.

Through using the BMW ConnectedDrive app on your iPhone, you can access RSS news feeds, Twitter and Facebook news feeds, your calendar, and Web Radio stations. However, none of this requires "tethering." Having said that, I connect my iPhone using Bluetooth, and use it for phone calls, my address book, and to receive emails and texts over iDrive. Then I keep an iTouch 4 in the armrest to connect to the USB port and run the ConnectedDrive app to get the other stuff. In this setup, I use the iPhone's Hot Spot ability to provide internet access to my iTouch. |
