Are these problems commonly encountered?
Hello everyone, I've had my f30 for around 6 years now. Recently, I experienced an oil pump failure that resulted in engine damage. I've undergone a comprehensive engine overhaul, which incurred a significant cost. After a 4-month wait, I finally got the car back. The engineers recommended a 1000km run-in period. However, I've noticed a noisy cold start and the engine tends to shut off when I press the brake. Are these problems commonly encountered?

Most people would put in a used engine rather than rebuild, so your situation is not common. Either way the engine should not shut off when you brake, might be a good idea to take it back to the shop. Did you get a warranty?
