Just picked up the 328ix

Hey everyone,

just picked up the little guy, excited to drive around after work today. This is my first 3-series and I'm coming from a z4.

The car is leased and I was wondering, if there were any inexpensive mods that can enhance the appearance of the car for the duration I have it? I might end up keeping it after the lease but time will tell. I was thinking the Black grills, but don't know how i feel about it on such a dark color.

Also 2 things, this trunk kicking thing is making me look like a crazy person because its hit or miss, is there some sort of trick to this? lol and Does the Sport mode consume more gas? what changes occur?

Also, noticed a slight line scratch on my trunk, should I mention this to the dealer? circled it in red- Doesn't bug me out to much, but just saying.

The trick to the trunk is to stand right in the middle of the trunk area but don't lean over it. Kick one time under the car straight under the roundel and back. Don't sweep your foot, just one kick in and out in the middle. Works every time for me that way! As for the scratch, without being there in person I can't say, but it sure looks like it would buff out. If you can feel it with your fingernail, it needs repair. If not, it will probably buff out.

The kick trunk works for me all the time... except when my both hands are full!

Actually, I learned that the remote signal is a hit and miss when the fob and smartphone are kissing each other in my pocket. I try to keep them in separate pockets or have one sit on top of the other.

Hey, if you're looking for an all black grill, I have an extra pair. I bought the grill from habberstad bmw of huntington, same place I got my 328i. The grill is gloss black. Had it on the car for 2 weeks and then I found a matte black grill, which I liked better on my car because I have the m sport package. Anyway, if you're interested reply back or shoot me an e-mail gfb203@verizon.net

Hey Jnkhan82!!

We picked up a 328 Xdrive about a month ago and we are loving it - although our Z4 gets the nod for summer everning time drives. We had an absolutely horrible experience with a Mercedes C300 4matic that the dealer had to buy back owing to a faulty transmission that Mercedes could not repair. Details here - http://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w2...g-problem.html . In any event, we are clear of the Merc junk and have a fine car now.

Re the trunk opening, I've managed to figure it out and its just like folks are saying above. For some reason, my wife can't seem to get it to work LOL!

Enjoy!!

since you dont have tech package, voice control is only through your phone. nothing will happen if you hold the voice button on the steering wheel.

I have a 328I sport, leased as well and planning to buy. My mod list - definitely tint the windows, black grills, spacers, front painted reflectors and a lip spoiler. I am also going to put the Stage 1 BMS tune.

I think that should keep me entertained. If I decide to go more crazy, I will swap the suspension on the car like I did all my others and put on a set of wheels.
