Wait, what happened? It was stolen or it wasn't stolen?
EDIT: Wait, I think I understand more after continuous rereading - it got towed, possibly because of illegal parking? Towed by some authority anyway and not just stolen by a yob. Damage by towing? If you have the manual transmission and you left it in Neutral, that's fine. Though your handbrake will be shagged. If you have the automatic transmission, which will be left in P, it's fucked. And your handbrake will be shagged. Help us out with some more details and a bit of a background if you can!

Sucks dude, make sure you take pictures immediately after picking it up and contact your insurance company if there is damage. Hopefully they towed from the back realizing that it's a RWD car, otherwise I'd be very worried about your tranny or parking brake. If you have xdrive and an AT this could be a bad thing, hopefully the clutch pack is not engaged when the car is off.
I get nervous dropping off the car for servicing so I can't even imagine your anxiety...

And if they did bother to tow from the rear, I'd look for damage to the bottoms of the front fenders from scraping on the ground

make sure your suspension doesn't make clunky noises over small bumps/speed bumps. I had my old rx8 towed once non flat bed...with just those little rollers under the wheels..and i think the pressure/force of the tow moved my struts around a bit to create a knocking/looseness that i had to get replaced.

makes me wonder... if parking a car with the wheels turn all the the way to one side, well prevent it from being towed...

Tow truck drivers are, by and large, total a-h***s. They usually could care less about the damage they cause. It shouldn't be allowed. Towing should only be used when there is a public danger involved. If your car is damaged try suing the tow truck company and the parking lot owner.

nope-...they slide what is basically a dolly underneath your turned wheels. They can adjust the angle so it still rolls "straight"
