Iphone 6 cable

Here is the stupid question of the day......

I have an IPhone 6 snap in adapter. I'm trying to update the firmware in it.

All the USB cables I have seem to have to large of a plastic end to fit into the port on the adapter.

Is there some kind of "special" cable that you need or does anyone have any ideas beside buying one and trimming the plastic around the receptacle? Someone has to ask the stupid question once in a while.

Just thought I would get it out of the way.

Thanks,

Rick

If a genuine Apple lightning cable doesn't fit, then nothing will. They have the smallest profile connector. If that's too big you'll need to shave something down. Can you show a pic of this port?

This is part of the document from BMW about updating the adapter.

To avoid damaging the circuit board when
inserting/removing the micro USB connector do
not wiggle the micro USB connector (keep it as
straight as possible).􀀖
Then connect the snap-in adapter with your computer.
Please note that the required cable (USB-A to Micro
USB-B) is not included in the delivery.

Maybe this explains it better than I can.

Ok so you just need a narrow profile micro USB cable. Many of the ones you buy aftermarket are too big...big squarish clunky things. I run into similar problems when trying to charge Android phones in a case. Usually the ones that come WITH Android phones are narrow enough to fit in there.
