Remove front bumper piece

Hey guys, so I recently got a fmic installed. However i have a baseline bumper, will do the m sport conversion soon. There is a black mesh piece of plastic in front of the intercooler, it connects to the two fog light plastic pieces. My questions are, can i remove it? If i remove it will the two fog light pieces stay intact and not be loose? Here are some pictures

It will not affect the fog light covers at all. You can remove the covers without problem

No however I did edit the part out to see what it would look like. If you guys would like me to take it out to try it I can. Plan on taking the bumper off to do some tests anyways
