Passenger restraint system malfunction
Hey everyone,
I was installing High Beam Assist in my '13 BMW 335i xDrive F30. While the car was running, I disconnected all the connections in the top (Where the dome lights are located), and got a "Passenger restraint system malfunction". I used E-Sys > External Applications > External Application > Transmitter > Connect > "...Clear all DTCs (clear DTC,clear ..." > Send This usually works but now they are just remaining on. (I also randomly get "Left rear turn signal malfunction" and "Left brake lamp malfunction") I have also tried to Code the ACSM and FEM_BODY ECU but these are not working as well. Does anyone know how to get the errors to go away? Also, I am using E-Sys 3.28.1 with v.63.3_PSdZData_Lite and Launcher PRO 3.0.3 Build 81 Thank you! I don't know what you have going on there.

It's only a guess, but you might have disconnected an airbag sensor. After doing that it would need a re-set, which E-Sys probably cannot do. You may need a diagnostic code reader with the ability to do resets, like the Foxwell NT510, to find the trouble code and clear it.
Edit: Looking at my overhead console today I saw the disable button for the passenger seat airbag, which reinforces my theory. Had you disconnected the negative at the battery you might have been OK, but not with the system powered, especially with the engine running. Last edited by Billfitz; 07-10-2018 at 01:45 PM.. |
