BMW don't mess about!!

Had a call from my dealer this morning to say that my car is at the port of exit, presumably somewhere on the Baltic or North Sea.
I am still in amazement, had a test drive on 19/2, ordered 21/2, build finished on 6/3.
My last three cars have been Audis (nothing exotic A3 and 2x A4's), with delivery from point of order being 5 months, 8 months and 6 months.
Could have built a car myself in 8 months!!

Well, things are a little quiet at the moment, as the European market is not very busy, so good for us right hand drivers...!

I've got the opposite problem! I ordered a 335d Touring at the end of January, slated for a mid April delivery. I checked in at the dealer 2 weeks ago and was told the build date is early June, expected delivery 2-3 weeks later

He suggested the Touring have a bit of a backlog but saloons are being turned around pretty rapidly.

I come from an Audi background myself (S2, RS2, RS6). The 335d intrigued me and the Xdrive, massive discount and great performance vs economy balance did it for me. My other option was a new S4 but they didn't want to play ball on the figures. Ironically, Audi contacted me with a price on a spec with June delivery with similar discount - it worked out marginally cheaper - probably what I'd have done if they didn't put me off initially.

My 335i touring was ordered on the 28th Feb & will be with me by the end of the month. I think he may have exaggerated the delays on tourings.
When I ordered I took his delivery estimate with a pinch of salt but it appears he knows his stuff
Happy days

Not sure when build started, just had an email off dealer last week to say been built. Just as well I didn't want to play about with spec.

I think dealers have slots for certain models... My dealer had to swap a 1 series slot for an f31 slot, then swap a 4 cylinder for a six. Ordered 3rd February, built last week, ready for collection in 2 weeks I hope...

Oooo! I would like an RS2, rare car round these parts (most parts I'm guessing) saw one the other week, was very nice.
Currently have the A4 3.0TDI Quattro and it just doesn't float my boat, would be even less fun without the sports diff!
Its a shame that BMW don't offer the LSD as an option, £600 on the Audi is quite a bargain.
Did get a very good deal on the A4 six months ago, but BMW are giving me an extra £1500 on top of my settlement figure which is a bargain. Good deal as well.

I guessed as much, dealer was very, very keen to do the deal.

That makes sense, my dealer checked their system and had no slots available when I placed my order. They requested more allocation from BMW hence why my car is taking about 8 weeks from order to delivery.

Apparently there is a long delay on EBII cars until at least the summer.

There is a shortage of Estoril globally.

Due it seems to so many being ordered and flooding the roads.

BMW are waiting for a paint tanker at the moment.

Do not think its tourings that are causing delay. 10/2 Ordered F31 320D Se orion Silver fairly loaded with extras;black dakota leather, burr walnut trim sports auto gearbox, vis pack, comfort pack, ellectric sport seats with lumber support, pro media , head up display, speed limit display, folding mirrors etc and M sport adaptrive suspension. I was expecting at least 6 to 8 weeks delivery. Car due at dealer today but due to already booked holiday I won't be taking delivery until 25/3. Dealer keen to make March sales target, Suspect I may miss new tyre pressure monitoring system but we will see.

That's my ETA on my 330D as well. Ordered about the same time as well. My last 2 BMWs have all had similar lead times, but ended up a couple weeks sooner, so I'm hopeful for my new one as well.
