ditching the run flats on the f30

Has anyone ditched the run flats on the F30 and changed over to regualr tires? If so, what are you doing for flats? Are you using a repair kit or are you putting a donut tire in the trunk like many people did for the e9X?

If you're using a donut tire, can you give us the details on it? For the E9x, there was a website that many people are aware of that was selling a perfect matching donut spare for the e9x but I can't say that I seen anything or even heard of any mention about a donut spare working with the F3x.

we got rid of runflats on the winter wheel set. gonna buy the fix a flat compressor set and just keep it in the trunk for the winter. hopefully that works if...when the time comes.

I ditched my goodyear RFT for some Advan DB, & it was money well spend.
Don't have any spare on the trunk at the moment, but I'm ordering a set of BMW original spare tire kit from the dealer. meanwhile I got my self a mini tire inflator kit (small compressor) stored in the trunk just in case.

Does the BMW kit include a jack and lug wrench along with the spare?
Is it a space saver/mini spare?
How much?
Sounds like a great idea.

I switched my 135i RFT's to standard, but didn't have anything in case of a flat. My plan is to call road side if it happens.
I'm changing the RFT's in my 335i in a couple of months. A BMW kit might be the ticket, as I don't use much of the trunk space.

Is that legal in the US? You'd fail inspection in Europe without at least some sort of spare or repair kit.

For you guys who ditched the run flats... Did you get TPM sensors, or are you just dealing with the light on the dash?

All Jack, lug wrench & few other stuff included, they even provide a bag to store the spare tire. paid roughly US$450 for the whole kit.
u can fit the jack & lug wrench in the mini storage under the trunk carpet.
while the spare tire take almost half of trunk space

We purchased another set of TPMS sensors, and are keeping a fix a flat kit in the trunk well. The upgrade to Bridgestone RE-11 made a huge difference in grip. We of course changed to BBS CH wheels as well

yes, definitely ordered the TPMs for the 2nd set of wheels. Had a flat before in a my 07 5-series (going highway speed with infant in car) and the TPM gave just enough warning so we could safely reduce speed and pull to the shoulder. It may be $400, but it is an incredible safety feature - even more important when running non-RFTs IMO.
sorry OP...not trying to thread-jack.
