Thrustmaster Warthog and my reliable Thrustmaster Tflight Hotas X.
Use for likes of WarThunder, Elite Dangeous, World Warplanes, IL 2 Sturmovik and bit of DCS World. Do not do the likes of MS Flight Sim, don't car to land a 747 in Chicago, however a low level bombing run or dog fight yes lol. |

It started with a friend saying that not many people would really kill other people just because they're cyborgs rather than real people... but I'm not so sure as I see it just as the ultimate extension of gaming, and in these none of us have any issues randomly killing!

I just got the PS4 pro and PS VR, right now I would say the ball is PS4 court against Xbox.
I haven't got a 4K TV yet, so can't comment on that content, but imo it's a no brainer if buying now The PS VR so far has been good, you can see what people say about the resolution being low, but overall the experience is good. It does feel like the games that weren't designed for VR (driveclub for example), do make you feel motion sick. Let me know if you have any questions about either |

I have only been paint-balling a couple of times, but the desire to 'kill' people is weirdly strong there too. Perhaps we're not as civilised as we like to think, and as Trump's election suggests. |

Got the kids the new Xbox one "s" couple of months ago. They seem to like it. I'm not a gamer but the odd go I have had on it seems nice bit of kit.
Selling points for me and mrs were it's a lot smaller than the older Xbox thanks to built in power supply and it's white so goes better with decor in kids playroom. We have a 4K SUHD tv in lounge but not hooked it up to that so not really had chance to see what it can do in terms upscaling or HDR. it's hooked up to 55" led tv that the kids inherited when I upgraded the lounge one recently one advantage of having them (kids) new they'd come in handy one day. Tech hand me downs. |

Not sure if anyone else has experienced it but I can't play driving games on a console as believe it or not I get travel sickness.
Really disappointing as I used to love playing Forza |

Project CARS on PS4 also has an extremely accurate Ring (Teaspoon, I challenge your comment re Forza being 'the best'. All current racing games utilise laser scanned track info.)
Having driven the real Ring numerous times in everything from an Alfa, Saab Turbo, Porsche to a Jag XJ-S (fuck, that was emotional! 5 tons of Brit engineering....physics played a huge role!!), Project CARS recreation is spot on right down to every lump, bump and slippery bits. I guess it will always be subjective to what is the best and depends on whether you want a game that is near real sim or jump in and ride. For me, Project CARS on the PS4 is as good as it gets. I used to have an extreme set up on my old high end gaming PC with rFactor. That was infinitely tune-able, masses of downloadable content and realistic to the enth degree (if you spent the time on tuning and tweaking). You could load up an entire realistic F1 season from 1989 etc and it was so immersive that if you completed the Japanese GP, you felt like jumping out the car and filling in a Frenchman! At present, on a gaming console, PS4 with Project CARS with my set up is brilliant (for realism). Not played the current Forza (used to love it on previous XBoxes) so couldn't say if it was better. Subjective of course. |

iracing also laser scan tracks, reportedly to with 2mm. Tells you more about scanning technology than what the game writing software folk are doing. In fact I bet the scanned track is sold to each of them by the same third party. Having said that, if a driving sim developer were to use the full 2mm accurate data, wouldn't the track on its own need more computing power than an Xbox or PS has? I would think so. |

Scanning of the tracks is only half the story. I can scan anything to get the dimensions etc but you still need to have decent developers to program how the car reacts on its tyres etc. In all honesty I don't think there is much between project cars, assetto corsa or forza. They all do things slightly different eg in Forza they world's on tyre physics so you have to drive more like a proper car braking in a straight line and turn in etc.
Who ever mentioned iracing though needs shooting... Probably the worst racing game I have ever played.looks like something made for a mega drive and every one that plays it takes it so seriously. It's a game they think it's a career. Does anyone have assetto corsa on ps4? It's cheap at 23 squid at present keep thinking of getting it as I have it on pc at present. |
