Paddle shifters

I'm in the process of ordering my F30 and I'm torn on whether I should get the paddle shifters. I have them on my MDX and the only time I use them is to slow down without having to brake. Do you all use your paddle shifters?

I'm not supposed to be using them until the car is broken in, but I've still been using them for downshifts. Hate manual trannys, but need to be in control. Wouldn't have gotten the car without them.

Simply, yes get them.

You then also get sport shifting even if you don't use the paddles.

Do they not just come as standard with the 8AT box?

I pretty much drive around using them all the time (when not in town).

Stick pushed to the left and sports + gives the car it's full power and response range.

They only come when you get the sports gearbox.

But yep, get them OP.

I thought so.

So really the question is sports auto box or not.

Bit of a no brainer personally.

It's a totally different car with stick to the left and sport selected,

I Agree with all so far. The car is so much better to drive with the paddle shifters. It may still be an auto but the level of control is far greater than typical auto. I use them 90% of the time. It was actually a must have for me, I might not have gotten the car without them actually (since I could not get a manual car). This thing is so cool I don't even miss the full manual gearbox nearly as much as I thought I would.

It's the best of both worlds.

Feeling lazy, then just auto.

Feeling like fun stick to left and sports +

Let's face it a manual would not give same fun or flexibility.

Doesn't pushing to the left gives you sport then gear up or down gives u manyal control. I opted out of that for the brakes n wheels.

With the 330d and 335d its a standard option (actually, there is only the sports auto).

If you leave the stick in auto, you only get it pseudo manual as auto kicks back in.

However with stick to left and sports + you have it ready for all the beans.

Personally, the 8AT with 6pot and Xdrive is a car for all seasons and occasions.

With best option being the F31

Lol.

Dog and mountain biking necessitates the F31.

However after using the sports auto box, I can't imagine ever having another manual again.

Does it make any different in term of the longevity of transmission if you use paddle shifter Vs. not using it?

Certainly does, much greater longevity when you use the paddles!
