#!%!&@! bluetooth stopped working

Out the the blue, BT stops working. Nothing has changed. Media screen shows "Not Connected", yet if you select that and go to the BT menu, it shows as connected! Tried to connect to wife's phone, same behavior. Both iphones think that they are connected, BTW. Then tried removing and then re-pairing my phone. Same problem.

Both iPhones are 6 with iOS 10.x. I've got nav and enhanced BT in my F30. Looked for a BT software update, but BMW shows the same old version from 18+ months ago.

Not sure what try next? Any ideas? Thx!

Mine gets cranky too, showing it's paired but it can't find the phone. What works for me is when in the car I turn the phone off, turn it on again, then connect.

Well...this worked. Thanks!

I do not get it though. Had it happen once before (in 38 months of ownership) and the un-pair and re-pair worked, but not this time. I was gonna disconnect and reconnect the battery (re-boot!) but tried your trick first.

Really, this stuff is maddening. I'm in IT, and the engineer part of me wants to know why. It's also maddening that BMW is not updating their software.

Thanks again!

You're welcome, but I can't say if the fault is in the car or in the phone, especially as it seems a re-boot of the phone is the fix.

I think it's the BMW software, not the phone. After I did this trick with my phone, now my wife's phone connects. It didn't before, but we didn't do anything to her phone.
