Yea It's a definitely a sport tire when comparing wear (luckily I don't drive it much)... as for the hydroplane that's kinda scary then...I personally haven't tried them yet but heard only good things but nothing about hydroing... I have Continentals contisportcontact and they are the noisiest tires I've ever had... can't stand'em and they look brand new... damn... makes it hard to switch... so if I had to go for an all season it would be Michelin PS A/S I guess from the reviews.... interested in other opinions now...
I mean, if you're not slowing down when it's raining, that's a problem with the driver, not the tire... There is not a high performance summer tire out there that doesn't degrade in performance in the wet, that isn't news nor is it specific to the PSS.

Tread life on the PSS is above average for the category, but again this is very dependent on the driver. Their replacement, the PS4S, are even more durable, while also having more grip in cold and wet conditions. I haven't had any noticeable increase in hydroplaning since swapping from OE P7's 6000 miles ago.

If you want a very durable tire that has limited performance impact in wet conditions, buy an all-season and leave the superior dry performance on the table. Every tire has their compromises.

Thanks for the inputs , I wish there is a place where you can try all this tires and then decide .
It may be a good biz idea

I will probably go with the Pirellis
Currently I have the Bridgestone winter tires and they are amazing on snow , but they are so loud .
Tire rack has them at 8 for the noice level and has the continentals SSR ( my other set )
at 6. I don't understand how that is possible because I find the winter tires much noicer

Winter tires are noisy because of the tread pattern. The tread pattern is what it is for maximum traction in snow. That's what you buy a winter tire for.

If you want a good and inexpensive tire that performs well and looks aggressive you can try the Firestone Firehawk Indy 500s. It's got great reviews and some say it hooks better than MPSS. It is a summer tire so if you're driving on snow you will drift everywhere.

I personally have had Michelin PSS, Continental Sports, Continental DWS, Continental ExtremeContacts and now these and I can honestly say the PSS and these are not too far apart in performance and the Indy 500s have better steering response.

I've heard Indy 500 had great wet performance too.

They absolutely do. I believe the only reason they are not as popular as they should be is because there aren't many plus sizes available just yet. Oh and mind you, they are actually re-branded RE11s.

I thought they were rebranded RE003? I also think it's the name that makes it a bit less desirable. Firehawk Indy 500 seems a bit... much compared to RE003. But Firestone is the sponsor for Indy so they named it after that. Meh. Great looking thread pattern. Can't wait to slap mine on!

Bridgestone owns Firestone. And you're right it looks exactly like the re003, very close to the re11s. They are just re-branded.

I had these on my previous car, a Saab 9000 turbo. They did a great job of getting the power down and greatly improved the handling. I was running over 350ft/lbs through an open diff and these would rarely give up grip, which is no small feat with front-wheel drive.

Nice to hear! Need to find a place and time to get mine on so I can get rid of these run craps!

Yep! Same tires at a great bargain too! Buddy got MPSS and only 2 of his tires is nearly the cost of my entire set!

Yea! For the 19" sports wheels it's like 115 for fronts and like 126 for rears. Supppper cheap! And people say it's 80% of the performance of MPSS for half the price. Can't go wrong! I don't track my cars enough anymore to justify the MPSS.
