Good News

Just had a message left on my mobile from my local BMW dealer that there are to be 8 new models to be released in March this year. Including the model that I have been waiting for the F31 330d Xdrive M Sport . I shall pop down to the dealership this afternoon to collect the particulars on paper. Christmas come early or is it late???

I made a mistake it was 7 new 3 Series models not 8. Just got back from the dealer he told me that the production date for the 330d xdrive will be week 10. I think that he mentioned 325 and 335 models but I think that they were petrol models not diesel.

I think the 30d now develops too much torque for the MT to handle. 560NM isn't it on this current variant? I believe the 6MT limit is 560NM.

My 330d was an E90 LCI at 245hp and 520NM so I could get the 6MT.

325d....yes please!

Mine will be a company car and I can either get a fully spec'd 320d M-Sport or a std 330d M-Sport...something inbetween would be (almost) perfect!

Garage List
Would be very interested to see how a 325d would compare to the current 328i. One would think they'd be quite close, unless BMW jiggle it a little to keep their numbers hierarchy

335i: 306bhp, 0-62mph in 5.2 secs (sweet!)

Anyone got any info on pricing?

Mid-range acceleration quite close, but standing-start & top-end the 28i still have the edge.
It's a good fill between the 20d & 30d.

I dont think thats the case as the 550i has even more torque and is available with a manual box in other markets.

325d is only a 4pot now though
(so not a patch on the 330d for refinement).

i would take the 328i as same price....

Still no 335d/340d boo hoo.

That 330d xdrive seems quick at 0-62 in 5.3. Do we assume that its just quicker off the mark but probably no different in the mid-range? There are no bhp/torque increases I dont think.

Could be a bit slower in mid range due to extra weight but very marginal. Ought to be a bit swifter in real life though due to increased grip out of corners etc.

At £1500 extra approx, a lot if not all of which will be returned at resale, it seems a no-brainer.

325d sounds interesting to me even if it is a 4 pot. However BMW website doesn't let me configure it as an auto, is that right? Manual only?
