How come we don't get the cool Civic?

Just watched Fifth Gear's review of the new European Civic and I absolutely LOVE it, it's fun, interesting, unique, pretty good looking and very high quality. If they can bring it over here it'd make the best hatchback under 20k.

Except if they brought it over here, it wouldn't be 20k. It'd be 25k, and nobody wants a 25k Civic.

But that is what ppl are paying for the new Civic Si and even more.

I think the version we have here a lot of car for the $$$.

The civic Si has made such a name for itself that ppl would no mind paying 25k or more for the car if it has the substance to back it it.
for that audience, they dont really care for brand name etc. and if they do, Si is the name to have.

Hmmm, you are right. If it's 25k I'd buy the new VW GTI.

I thought the Si is gonna be 20k. Unless you add a bunch of garnishings of course.

With those triangular exhaust tips and the futuristic nose with the badge buried under a clear plastic "grill" I think it's a pretty cool little funky hatchback.

The photos of Japanese cars always look great until you sit inside one of those You have already married the beautiful princess and now being an honorable owner of a new BMW. Your (our) time with the old ugly Japanese girlfriends are over.

We aren't even going to get the hatch here, but the sedan which is really a make over of the previous sedan... Honda has a funny product strategy sometimes, but I guess it all makes sense to them.
