This month dealers taking part in BMWs quarterly promotion are fitting the new m performance parts to a 3 series. BMW are currently issuing this demo kit to dealers.

Now if your dealer is doing this then they will take off 400/403 wheels and apply the 405m. Surely if they do this to one with 403s you could have them?

Certainly what I would be asking... Worth a shot. ps this will be parts not sales you need your guy to speak to.

My dealer rang me other day saying the 405s had just arrived as a demo kit for the promotion.

Cheers

Mat

Is it really the size of the alloy that we love or hate? Or is it just design preference?

I know we get hung up on size but as been said the total wheel size is the same.

Personally I'm not keen on rims that show too much of the brakes and discs. My mate bought a Z4 recently, 19s 326M. Tbh I'm not a big fan of them.

I think if you have a set of M3 brakes it looks nice but on some cars maybe you are right, the current e90 body looks great on 18"

I say wait and get it the way you want it. The old saying of trust your gut applies here. As for the difference between the 400 and 403 wheels, I will say that there is no question that both look good but IMHO, the 403M's look much better than the 400's. The 19's fill more gap and the 403m wheel itself just looks better spoke wise to me. As for ride while you have less side wall to absorb impact with 19's the difference in ride is not even noticable and yes I have ridden in 335's with both and with 20's as well. IMHO, the harsh ride is more about the RFT's then the difference between 18's and 19's. Again, if you look at both wheels the 403M's spoke are much more robust looking for this car. Good luck either way.

Good advice. As always thank you most sincerely for all your views, really helpful as always from like thinking people, well usually.

I have advised the dealer to order the 403 wheels and I will wait, sorry Derek.

So you can help further by continuing to post pics of your F30/F31

At the end of the day, you need to get the spec you will be happy with. 8 weeks seems a long time, but you'll have that car a lot longer and if you choose the spec you're not happy with, you'll be unhappy longer....

Personally I prefer the 18s but ETO

Size doesn't matter, it's what you do with it that counts... Hold on, am I mixing this up with something else.....

Told build 3rd week in April and car at dealers 3 weeks after that, Ceramic Coat many on the go Know i'm looking at Carpro C Quartz , but also you have Getechniq C1 and also Max Protect i think has one , also Nano coating, this helps to limit the need for wheel cleaners and a good Prewash cleaner at 10 parts water to 1 part Valet Pro Citrus pre wash , or good PH netural Shampoo, the Cermac help repel dirt and also stops some of the wash marring of the wheels, posted a link with recent test . Carpro C Quartz Finest will likely be on mine , if an approved Detailer friend can help me as not for retailt he Finest, but C Quartz Uk very good as well. Should have said it lays a very thin layer of glass coat that bonds with surface to have a barrier on paint all be it wont protect against stones or bad washing pratice

Have a look at the TTRS with Finest

@zorroone: Different strokes for different folks. It's vital you have the look you want and the options you need and want. In my case, I wish I had not ordered DAB and optioned VSS instead. It's a constant disappointment and you don't want that.

Guys, the DAB fiasco really hurts. It was 2 items from DAB, Electric Lumbar Support and VSS and like a prize prat I chose DAB on both cars as one of the options. My ex also prefers FM to DAB, but we are pleased with the Electric Lumbar Support. Small mercies, eh ...........

Anyway, I'm convincing myself that the Servotronic Steering (which I feel is pretty damn good) might probably be better for old dears like us as it might be less twitchy!
