M-Sport F30 335i Gets Bilstein Coilovers

This beautiful Alpine White M-Sport 335i is a perfect example of an OEM+ styled car. Retaining a factory-like look, this F30 features a list of subtle modifications that work together to give the car a sportier, more aggressive look. Bilstein PSS10 coilovers give this 335i it's dialed-in lowered ride height, while Macht Schnell wheel spacers give a wide stance. BMW Performance parts include an exhaust system with M logo tips, a carbon fiber rear spoiler and carbon fiber mirror caps. IND painted kidney grilles and painted reflectors give this M-Sport its finishing touches.

Modifications
Bilstein PSS10 Coilover System
BMW Performance Exhaust System
BMW Performance Carbon Fiber Mirror Caps
BMW Performance Carbon Fiber Rear Spoiler
IND Painted Cosmetic Package
Macht Schnell Competition Wheel Spacers (10mm Front, 15mm Rear)

The ride quality does change, but with a quality coil over like these the dampeners help a lot. I have them adjusted to 4 front/3 rear for now and that seems to be a good happy medium. As I left EAS, I left them at 5/5 and it was bearable but a bit too stiff for daily driving.

Overall, it is definitely a more stiff ride than stock which is to be expected. I'm happy it still rides comfortably with much better handling. I could turn them down to a softer setting and it would probably feel like stock but then I would sacrifice handling.

I've had cars on springs/stock dampeners, coilovers slammed on their lowest setting, and a 350z track with the stiffer suspension out of the factory. At the current setting, it feels a lot like my 350z stock. If you are just going for looks I would probably just go with H&R Sport Springs. For handling and the ability to adjust height and dampening these are great.

I actually track my car so it's nice to have the adjustability for street -> track and to be able to dial in comfort for daily driving. I bought a higher end coilover for a reason, I figured since I am paying a decent amount for the car to begin with, anything I added needed to fit accordingly.

Looks great. I was on the fence with those 19's and ended up sticking with the 18's on mine, may change eventually to M5 reps or something.. But those 19's seem to look the best on white, especially with your ride height.

Pardon my ignorance here, but how easy is it to adjust the coil overs afterwards? I have heard the only reason not to do this on an x-drive car is that the suspension will wear out faster due to the angle with x-drive. Can anyone confirm that, or what the negatives are? I don't really buy BMW's excuse about ride height for better ground clearance in the snow.

To adjust the coil overs you need to take the tire off to turn the adjustable collar up or down. Not too hard of a process. In all of the XI cars we have done we havent seen any with premature suspension wear.

From what I've seen and heard the H&R Sport are pretty comfortable and give a nice mild stance. Moving into Super Sport its a bit more stiff and is going to be bumpier since the dampeners are not designed for that ride height. There are a couple SoCal guys running Super Sport that seem to like them. Hopefully running Spring Mountain in Dec, that will most likely be the next time I hit the track. Typically they don't allow passengers for my skill level (I usually run in beginner groups for now).
